That's because no one else is racing against them on Friday night other than the 7-8 times Belle-Clair raced..
On Saturday's you have I-55, Highland, Fayette, Farmington, Macon & even Charleston.. If you look thru the results, you will see a lot of these cars disbursed out to those tracks on...
My understanding is Belle-Clair was given a couple of dates as options, but they have to get it approved by the fairboard. Other tracks don't have that issue so they accept a choice for a makeup right away.
This Saturday will be the first time ever USAC Sprints have raced on the highbanks of I-55!! Can't wait to see it.
The only other USAC event ever held at I-55 was back in 1988 when USAC sanctioned late models.
Plus it pays $6000 to win and $600 to start. Hoping for a solid field of cars since...
Also, these guys have run A-Mod or Late Models before:
Jake Seets III
Johnny Seets III
Terry Bolin
John Stanton
John Hobson
Mike Null
Steve Maisel
Billy Knebel
Mike "Wahoo" Jones
Nathan Schmitt
Brett Korves
Justin Durbin
Marty Smith, Jr.
Rob Lee
Cody Stillwell
If that's your rule, don't...
All you people do is complain.. Don't want to pay $20 to see some great racing but will pay $50 - $100 to go watch a lousy pro sports team play.
I'll be there supporting a track that has some of the best weekly racing in the country!
The tracks that already had a Lucas race were allowed to keep them when that unwritten rule was put in place a few years ago. Any current UMP track that did not already have a Lucas race in place was not allowed to schedule one and keep the UMP sanctioning. It's been that way for several years...
This is nothing new.. Why do you think I-55 does not have any Lucas shows. World Racing Group has teh World of Outlaw Late Models, so if you are a UMP track, they expect you to run WoO Late Model show instead of Lucas.
Last year, I-55 and Tri-City were $28 for SN (although I-55's rained out)..
Tri-City is $30 for their SN show this year, so I expect I-55 would be too.
