Jackson County (Ohio) Speedway Opens

RACINE, OHIO-The Octane Race Products American Motor Racing Association officially began its season last Friday at Jackson County Speedway. Late week negotiations between the AMRA and Chris and Maggie Smalley resulted in the speedway signing a contract for its modified division.

Over the next few weeks, Jackson County will increase its purse, but this week starts at $500 to win and $110 to start with hopes of expanding on that over the season to $600 to win and $120 to start. "We want drivers to know we are dedicated to this and that we are going to be here," said Maggie Smalley. "As long as the drivers support us, we will support them and follow through with our plan. Running a race track is new to us despite us being around racing all of our lives. We are totally devoted to this for the racers."

"The AMRA Modified division is a great fit for Jackson County Speedway and for Jackson County fans. We are looking forward to a great season."

"Just to clarify, modifieds and late models (steel block) are $110 to start even if less than 10 cars. Thanks, and we appreciate your interest! See you Friday!"
