CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 5 of the 2014 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season has a tie for the point lead between Scooter Ware of West Point, MS and Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS with 180 points apiece. There will be six races in four states on Week 5 schedule of events.
The infamous phrase “If the season ended now,” came into play, Ware would win the tie-breaker in the points, as he has one win this season, while Leftwich is still looking for his first point victory. However, there are still 23 weeks left in the 27-week NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division 2014 season.
Week 5 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition begins this Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. The five Saturday night races are scheduled for Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
David Windham of Florala, AL is third in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 175 points and Mike Lane of Pace, FL is fourth with 172 points. Clint Vaughn of Odenville, AL is fifth with 164 points and Scotty Vowell of Philadelphia, MS is sixth with 149 points.
Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS is seventh with 144 points and Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL is eighth with 143 points. Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is ninth with 138 points and Branden Harris of Molino, FL rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 137 points.
Drivers that race at NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 28. The 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies National Champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
