East Smethport, PA (April 24, 2014)
The NDRL McKean Co Raceway in E. Smethport will come to life again this Saturday night after a very successful opening night last Saturday. The annual Jim Duffy Memorial will be on tap for the super late model division. Mike Knight of Ripley, NY took home the opening night win over Jamestown's, Chris Hackett. A complete program for the weekly RUSH Crate Late Models, Close Racing Supply Modifieds, Highway Auto Sales Stock Cars, Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks will also be in action.

The super late models will be gunning for the annual Jim Duffy Memorial event in honor and memory of the late Jim Duffy he passed away on opening night in 1989. Duffy recreated the current 3/8 mile oval out of the old half mile horse track oval and returned to racing his own dirt late model in 1986. Current point leader, Knight is expected back this week along with Hackett, Greg Oakes, David Scott and Dick Barton. Also expected on hand is 2013 track champion, Rob Blair making his 2014 debut and his son, Max who dominated the crate division last year and has been on traveling with the National Dirt Racing League "Kings of Dirt" national touring series for John Kennedy this year. The Blair family should provide added excitement to the late model division.

Chad Ruhlman of Bemis Point, NY will be looking to make it two for two on Saturday night. He can not let off the loud pedal as crate new comer, Jeremy Wonderling of Wellsville, Damien Bidwell, Dustin Waters, Matt Harvey, Bob Kish, Zack Carley and so many others will be looking to find victory lane this week. This no doubt is the most competitive weekly division at MCR!

The Close Racing Supply Modified division has a new name for 2014, but veteran driver, Randy Hall is no stranger to victory lane and that is right where he was at on opening night. Hall a former multi track champion and former three time UEMS Modified Series champion led all 20 laps last Saturday night defeating Brent Rhebergen, Vic Vena, Kirk Bradley, John Woodward Jr and Patrick McGee.

Dennis Asel of Kane, won the season opening Highway Auto Sales Stock car event. Rick Wojowitcz, Kurt Stebbins, Ted Mascho, Josh Wilcox will no doubt be looking to find victory lane this weekend as Asel had a dominating car on opening night.

Mitch Boylan finished second in the championship points in 2013, but found victory lane on opening night. He chased after Kurt Babcock for most of the race till a late race pass. Babcock had a great car and no doubt will be looking to defeat Boylan this week. Travis Babcock rolled his car in a qualifying heat last Saturday night, but got it repaired and returned for the feature. Determination by this young man will no doubt be a reason why he will be in victory lane this year, it may be this Saturday night!

The 2013 Pure Stock champion, Joe Layfield found victory lane by default last week as the winner was disqualified due to a engine infraction. Ironically the defending champion picked up his first win and only win in the last two years by the default. Mr. Consistency, Layfield will no doubt be looking to find victory lane again but Cliff Easton, Roger Schweikert, Dennis Cummings an Art Peterson will all be looking to be in victory lane.
