CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 9 of the 27-week 2015 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies has reached the busy Memorial Day Weekend when drivers have the opportunity to run for “The Quinella.” There are eight races over four days in four different states.

There is one NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division race on Friday night, four races on Saturday night, two races on Sunday night and one race that will open Week 10 competition on Monday night. No driver has ever done The Quinella, or won a race each day of the Holiday weekend.

Of course, only a driver’s highest point night during the week will count towards their season total. But nonetheless, having the honor of winning The Quinella looks good on a driver’s resume and becomes legend in the history of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division.

Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will open NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 9 competition with the lone Friday night race. That means whoever wins the Hattiesburg Speedway race will be the only driver eligible to win The Quinella.

The Saturday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division events will be at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. The two Sunday night races will be at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL will open Week 10 of the 2015 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season on Monday night with a special $1,000-to-win race. If a driver can win The Quinella, he can also pick up some pretty decent cash for four days of racing.

Richie Stephens of Salem, AL leads the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 330 points and a nine-point lead over Branden Harris of Molino, FL with 321 points. Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS is third with 299 points, 22 points behind Harris. Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is fourth 294 points, just five points behind Strength, and John Smartt of Manchester, TN is fifth with 276 points, 18 points behind Jarrett.

Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS is sixth with 271 points, and Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL is seventh with 269 points. David Williamson of Seminary, MS and David Windham of Florala, AL are tied for the eighth spot with 259 points apiece. Bo Bailey of Milton, FL rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 254 points.

Looking at the Weekly point averages, or WPAs, Strength has the highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings at 49.83 out of a possible 50. Stephens has the second highest WPA at 47.14 and while Bill Stewart of Carriere, MS and Cliff Childers of Terry, MS, who are tied for 11th in the point standings, are tied for the third highest WPA at 46.6.

Smartt has the fifth highest WPA at 46, and Harris has the sixth highest WPA at 45.86. Geddie has the seventh highest WPA among the Top 20 in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings at 45.17, and Faulk has the eighth highest WPA at 44.83. Kevin Mitchell of Pensacola, FL, who is 13th in the point standings, has the ninth highest WPA at 44.8. Josh Kimmons of Jay, FL, who is 14th in the point standings, has the tenth highest WPA at 44.2.

Drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27. The $5,000 National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competitors also have the option to compete with the economical steel-head 350 horsepower Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that is available at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA for $3,495 with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast.

Seven of the Top 10 drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings, including the Top 5, after the first eight weeks of competition have a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine under the hoods of their respective race cars.
