Round 2 of the NeSmith/NCRA Late Model Series for Week 15 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series points will take place on Sunday night at the historic Belleville Highbanks in Belleville, KS.

If NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point leader Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS races this weekend, it will be the final week he can earn full points, as he will reach the 14 week mark of his season. After that, he will begin trying to net points by replacing the lowest of his 14 weekly point totals with a higher one.

Arnold could compete in a Make-Up Race this weekend, reach the 14week mark, and then net on a 25 in a Week 15 race. Arnold has an opportunity to earn 75 points this weekend. Arnold leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 610 points and has a 102 point lead over Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL, who is second in the standings with 508 points.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 465 points. Both Joiner and Jordan still have three more weeks to earn full points, and can close the gap on Arnold in the coming weeks.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is fourth with 433 points, and the 13-year-old also leads the Sunoco Young Gun Challenge Series point standings for drivers 18 years of age and younger. Skinner still has four more weeks to earn full points.

Billy Riels Racing teammates Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS and the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS are fifth and sixth respectively in the point standings. Lee has 429 points and Daspit has 421 points. Greg Fore of Greenville, MS is seventh with 417 points. Lee, Daspit and Fore can earn full points for another five weeks.

Three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Collinsville, MS is eighth in the standings with 373 points and the third-place driver in the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series points, 17-year-old Cole Daffron of Pell City, AL is ninth in the National Weekly standings with 366 points. Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS rounds out the Top 10 with 363 points.

Keeton, Daffron and Palasini all have another six weeks to earn full points before reaching the 14 week mark of their respective seasons. Seven Top 10 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers are also in the Top 10 of the Weekly Point Average, or WPA, List. But, to find the driver among the Top 20 in the points with the highest WPA, you have to go to the second ten.

Starnes can earn full points for another seven weeks, and he also leads the NeSmith Southern Crate Late Model Series point standings.

Lee has the second highest WPA at 47.67, and Adam Cummings of Odenville, AL, who is 16th in the standings with 331 points, has the third highest WPA at 47.29 and has seven more weeks to earn full points. Arnold has the fourth highest WPA at 46.92, and Daspit has the fifth highest WPA at 46.78.

Keeton has the sixth highest WPA at 46.63, and Joiner has the seventh highest WPA at 46.18. Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27. The $20,000 National point fund will pay $10,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.
