Ponderosa Speedway’s 5th Annual Weekend Warrior Up Next on SATURDAY August 1!

Junction City, KY-July 26, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson will present another special SATURDAY evening of dirt track racing at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on SATURDAY night August 1 as the 5th Annual Weekend Warrior event will be contested, with all divisions in action, expect for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, as they will have the weekend off.


This event, originally scheduled for June 19 and rained and rescheduled for June 26 and again rained out, will now take place on SATURDAY August 1 with extra money up for grabs in the Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Model and Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stock divisions. All other divisions will be in competition in full racing program, while Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models will not be in action.


Ponderosa Speedway will present the 5th Annual Weekend Warrior on SATURDAY August 1 and will feature the Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Models in action for $1,000 to win in a 35 lap main event, along with the Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stocks in action in a $600 to win 20 lap feature contest. Joining the rescheduled 5th Annual Weekend Warrior racing card on SATURDAY August 1 will be the Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds racing for $700 to win in a 20 lap main event, along with Four Cylinders racing for $300 to win (12 lap feature) and Hardees Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win (10 lap feature). All divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and transponder timing/scoring is used. Drivers will pick up their transponders at the driver registration window and drivers need to be signed in by the time of the drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m.

There will be a $25 entry fee for the Pro Late Model division for this event and that does include transponder rental fee.


Activities for the rescheduled 5th Annual Weekend Warrior racing program at Ponderosa Speedway on SATURDAY August 1 will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to start at 7:30 p.m., while racing will take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times are Eastern Daylight Times. Tickets prices for the 5th Annual Weekend Warrior special event on SATURDAY August 1 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. In the pit area, a pit pass will be $35, with children ages 3 to 12 $15, and children ages 2 and under free.
