Five-night five-track USMTS Memorial Day Weekend ramps up Wednesday

DENISON, Iowa (May 23) -- The United States Modified Touring Series will embark on a five-night five-track Memorial Day Weekend racing vacation beginning Wednesday, May 25, at the Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa.

Thursday brings the USMTS Casey's Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental to the Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, for the first of two stops this season, and Friday will find the series at the Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Minn.

The Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., will host the USMTS on Saturday with the swing climaxing Sunday, May 29, at the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa.

All five events will pay $3,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. Points are up for grabs in the RealTruck.com Northern Region presented by Day Motor Sports.

Wednesday's lid-lifter at the Crawford County Speedway will also find the Iron Man Series featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods sharing the spotlight.

The pits will open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates swinging open one hour later. Hot laps start at 7:15 and the first heat race takes the green flag at 7:30.

Adult grandstand tickets are $20, kids ages 6-12 are just $5 and children ages 5 and under get in for free. Pit passes are $35.

Four more big shows cap off the annual Memorial Day Weekend swing, beginning with the long-awaited return of the Best of the Best to the Mason City Motor Speedway for the "All-In" 30 presented by Diamond Jo Casino.

The Iron Man Series featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will join the party with pits opening at 4 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5, hot laps begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m.

Adult general admission tickets are $20, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and children 5 & under get in for free. Pit passes are $35.

The 9th Annual Guttormson Memorial takes place on Friday, May 27, at the Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Minn. WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Pure Stocks will round Friday's card at the always-exciting semi-banked 1/3-mile gumbo clay oval.

On Saturday, the fast fun moves to the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the 14th Annual Minnesota Spring Challenge presented by A&A Electrical & Underground.

A full night of racing is on tap with the Iron Man Series featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-pace USRA B-Mods in action, along with WISSOTA Street Stocks joining the stars and cars of the United States Modified Touring Series.

Pits open at 2 p.m., grandstands open at 3:30, hot laps begin at 5:30 and the green flag waves at 6 p.m.
