Spring, Texas (11/28/16) – Chris Brown went into battle in two divisions in the annual Possum Town Grand Prix at Magnolia Motor Speedway over the course of the Thanksgiving weekend, and he came away with a win and a 4[sup]th[/sup]-place finish to show for his efforts.
Competing in two divisions, Chris Brown traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Friday to take part in the opening leg of the two-day Possum Town Grand Prix.
With 66 Crate Late Models registered for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series sanctioned weekend, Brown secured his spot into the main event with a runner-up finish behind Cory Hedgecock in his heat race.
Rolling off the starting grid in the 10[sup]th[/sup] position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Chris advanced six spots in the 100-lapper, registering a 4[sup]th[/sup]-place finish behind Riley Hickman, Chase Washington, and Eric Cooley with Grant Garrison finishing 5[sup]th[/sup].

In a field of 25 Street Stocks, Brown started the weekend with a heat race victory in his Innovative Race Cars #17B Jesse McNorton Motorsports entry, which positioned him on the pole for the main event. Bringing home his fourth victory of the season in the caution-plagued affair, Chris outdueled Justin McRee, Lee Ray, TK King, and Rodney Wing at the finish line.

“Magnolia Motor Speedway is one of my favorite tracks in the country, and it felt good to enjoy such a strong weekend there,” said Brown. “We had to face some really tough competition in both classes. I again want to thank everyone, who made this weekend possible.”
