FASTRAK Triple Crown set for this weekend with almost $35,000 up for grabs

The 14th Annual FASTRAK Triple Crown, which features almost $35,000 in total purse money, will kick off on May 25th at 311 Motor Speedway with a $2,000 to win feature. The following night, May 26th, shifts to Princeton Speedway for another $2,000 to win event. The finale, will be at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA on May 27th, paying $3,000 to win. The 2018 Champion will be crowned, along with a scepter and robe, on the front stretch at the high-banked half mile oval. The Champion will also be presented with a Grandfather Clock, courtesy of NRV Furniture and Mattress Center. The $3,000 finale will also feature a $100 Hard Charger Award sponsored by NVR Furniture and Mattress Center.

“The Triple Crown has become very prestigious for the Chevrolet Performance Late Models,” said FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine, “With this Grandfather Clock up for grabs, it will reach new levels.”

The first leg of the Triple Crown will be race number four for the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance. Matthew Nance, of Ronda, NC, is the current points leader, having three top-five finishes so far in 2018. Kenny Peeples is in second, trailing Nance by 15 points. The 2017 FASTRAK World Champion Ross Bailes, is currently third. Travis Pennington and Brad Basey are tied for fourth, with Justin Wofford rounding out the top five. Drivers in the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance are battling for the $10,000 to win points championship, which will be awarded in January at FASTRAK’s Annual Night of Champions Banquet.

The 14th Annual FASTRAK Triple Crown will also debut the new VP Racing Lubricants contingency award, which will award one case of Hi Performance oil to one lucky driver. The fast qualifier will draw a number, 1-24, to determine which finishing position will pick up the case of oil.
