FASTRAK to move WORLD CHALLENGE to another venue in 2019!

For the last 5 years the FASTRAK WORLD CHALLENGE, LIMITED TO MEMBERS ONLY, has run in conjunction with the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP at Bill Sawyers Virginia Motor Speedway. Since the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is a whopping $50,000 to win in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the VMS and with the anticipated car count for that event, the management of both the series and the speedway have decided to move that event to another venue beginning in 2019.

"We just have no idea how many cars will show up to the $50,000 to win event so its impossible to schedule the $5000 to win WORLD CHALLENGE at the same time" said Stan Lester of FASTRAK. "The one thing we sure don't want to happen is fans and teams racing at 2:00 in the morning trying to run the WORLD CHALLENGE during that same weekend".

"We hate to see the WORLD CHALLENGE get moved" said Bill Sawyer, "but looking ahead to what could happen with the $50,000 to win World Championship and looking after the teams and fans, it's the best thing for everyone. Can you imagine having 100 cars show up at the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and having the WORLD CHALLENGE TOO? We want to be fair to everyone involved and I am concerned about it being too much in one night to take on".

"FASTRAK weekly sanctioned tracks will have first right of refusal" said DJ Irvine of FASTRAK. "We truly appreciate Bill and Clark Sawyer having the wisdom to look ahead of the 2019 season in making this decision. This has been a fantastic venue to hold the WORLD CHALLENGE at and this way, another one of our weekly sanctioned tracks can host this event in 2019 and possibly even move it around from track to track each season".

We will be taking inquires for the WORLD CHALLENGE in 2019 right away" said Irvine. "Any track that is currently FASTRAK weekly sanctioned or considering sanctioning in 2019 should contact us ASAP.

The suggested date for this event is September 27/28 with 29th as a rain date 2019.
