Inside Line Promotions - COBBLE HILL, B.C., Canada (Oct. 16, 2018) - Robbie Price will make the nearly 1,100-mile trek south to Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., for the fifth straight year to compete in the Trophy Cup this weekend.

Price will pilot his family owned No. 21P during the 25th edition of the event at the always racy high-banked, third-mile bullring. The event, which benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will pay a record $25,000 to the overall champion on Saturday night and carries a record purse of more than $200,000 for the three-night event.

"The first couple of years there we didn't have a whole lot of success," Price said. "We used to go down there and tear some stuff up. Last year we ran good. We had speed all weekend. We just didn't have the best of luck when it came to track position and things like that. We've been getting better and better each year we go there. Hopefully this is the year we put it in the big dance."

A field of 90-plus entrants is expected, with drivers taking part in two preliminary nights of racing. Event points are earned each time a driver hits the track on the first two nights and ultimately are used to line up feature events on the final night. The 50-lap main event on Saturday night will see the top 20 in points inverted, with the final four positions going to drivers who transfer from the B Main. The driver with the most event points following Saturday night's 50-lap main event will be declared the champion and will receive the winner's share of the purse.

"You have to give it 110 percent every time you are out there," Price noted of the unique format. "That's the way that track needs to be driven and that's the way those guys need to be raced. The curb at Tulare is second to none. It's pretty fast for the way it races as well. It certainly is a one-of-a-kind track and I always look forward to going there. Tulare is definitely a 'cowboy up' type of track and that suits my style."

Over the course of the last month Price has competed in two prestigious events. He hit the track at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., for the Gold Cup Race of Champions with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. Price then made his debut in the Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., with another stout field of drivers in attendance.

"You are only as good as who you race against and I've been racing against some heavy hitters the last couple of races," he shared. "Hopefully we can go down there and be a hitter."

Price, who is looking to qualify for the main event on the final night of the Trophy Cup for the first time in his career, has a plan laid out of what needs to be accomplished to gain as many event points as possible.

"You have to qualify good right off the bat and then heat race good," he said. "You can never go backwards, that's the real goal. Maybe, it's only or two positions every time, but that's still way better than going backwards. You have to go forward at all times. The way the format is, you have to pass cars and be on your 'A' game every time you are on the track."
