we had more fun with less money than any team i know. cant do that anymore with these store bought pieces. the money game killed many a racers passion.
i herd a guy named rodney was gonna run just enough tour races to qualify for the big show. i think he won at paducah and second at east bay. thought i herd a couple other big dogs were tryin to do the same.
looks like modified drivers would rather pill draw. they take up too much time, put the fast guys in front so they dont have to pass anybody and it drops the car count. 15 cars at mt. vernon, 12 at highland where they time tral. pevely had 30 and montgomery had 25 and they pill draw at them 2...
most tracks do the same thing. remember that the lower divisions are there on the big shows as a time filler so folks have a chance to go to the john or get something to eat.
its march and its modifieds. bad combination if you lookin for fans. just ask godfrey. i agree that black top to bottom can be racier that a heavy track full of holes. give pevely a chance. a high bank track is harder to get smooth than a flat track. nice pics. really liked the old chevy's.
godfrey the night dixon was chasin down collinz and wound up on the fence with less than 10 to go. restarted in back and came thru for the win. close second was the outlaw late models at granite.
