ULMA WAS an awesome idea, but like everything else.............
When they formed the ULMA, it was an awesome idea. I even lobby'ed tracks around Southeast Missouri to run under the ULMA sanctanion because it was such a great idea. Then, they changed the rules a couple of years ago to accomodate...
Graham Jackson's available
Call Graham Jackson. He's from the Chicago area and runs a Buzzard house car. Just talked to him this morning and he's not racing this weekend. He just got his new Buzzard for next year. (312)823-5695.
Go ULMA and forget the crate fiasco.
Easy one here guys, go ULMA and forget the crate fiasco. In my experience, UMP does little tech, if any, and Crates were a good idea out of the box, but now there are so many people cheating them up that it's all about the money now. Not to mention that ULMA...
I agree that you have to promote, but the reason that ULMA makes sense is that you're not competing for cars with anyone. The crate guys from Malden, the St. Louis area, and down South can come, guys that currently run modifieds and want to run Late Models can use their current powertrain and...
You COULD run Saturday nights...........
Here's an idea: Run Saturday nights, and run ULMA Late Models as your top class. Crate cars can run with them, then A-mods, B-mods, and street stocks. Keep it to 4 classes, run a clean show, and finally PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE!! You'll get crate cars...
I was wondering if Fredricktown would consider ULMA Late Models in '09? Last year, they all but assured me that they were going that direction right up to the day they released the info that they were going with the UMP Pro Lates. I didn't go there this year, so I don't know about car counts...
Re-listed with lower starting price.............
Re-listed, check it out on Ebay at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=220219505546&rd=1
I have a 2003 Randy's RaceMart Raider Late Model chassis for sale. Car has less than 30 nights since new. Chassis has never been bent or clipped. Comes with chassis, body for template (front clip, hood, doors, quarters, interior kit w/ tub), motor plate, upper control arms, spindles, left lower...
Just getting into Late Model racing, and looking for a few good used WRS55 Hoosiers for spares. Must have at least 60% tread left or not interested. Thanks for any response.
Sean, if you read the rest of that post..............
Sean, if you read the rest of that post, the numbers you are quoting are the top $$ stuff, and for someone to spend that and try hooking it up on the tires we run is stupid. Not to mention that the top 6 cars in ULMA points had no where near...
Sean2, have you read circletrack.................
Sean2, you were very adamate about there not being any bolts out there, have you read the new Circletrack? They talk about the controversy, and how the person that wrote the article asked for some bolts and had more than 1 person bring him a...
to go along with what Racewriter said.............
Racewriter is correct. Basically, and engine is nothing more than an air pump. The more air(fuel) you can pump through it, the more horsepower potential that's there. With the stock valve angle (23 degree Chevrolet, 20 degree Ford, 18 degree...
Thanks a lot Zero
Thanks for the input Zero. You seem to have seen the same trends I have seen, and have experienced the huge motor vs. small motor delimma. I think that there are guys out there that when they hear the words "Late Model" they automatically think "Big Money motors". They can't...
I personally know..............
I personally know of at least 3 guys that run USMTS shows, and have won several shows running 355's against 406, 421, and 434's. Are you now going to tell me that the 355 had more horsepower than the 434? It has to do with driver, and set-up. The hard tire DOES...
What part of "I don't want a crate............
What part of "I don't want a crate motor" didn't I make clear? I did say that if Dodge and Ford crates were allowed, it may be a horse of a different color, but that doesn't include me. As I've mentioned before, watching crates is like watching...
Maybe, but................
T.nie and Racer94, you both have some good points, but I also will say that there is only so much you can do with a steel block, steel-headed wet sump motor on the Hoosier D55 tire. You can only hook up so much. Now, they will spend more on chassis, set-up, etc. but...
That's just more reason...................
That's just another example of someone trying to "buy" a championship rather than working on their car set-up and driving. I've seen several ULMA races, and I can tell you first hand that most of the cars that run up front on a weekly basis don't have...
That'd make Tommy Sr. A GREAT grandpa..............
I'd like to be able to tell my friends that my Great Grandpa was still driving a racecar and competitive. Congratulations to the whole Worley clan.
