Is there any chance we can get some laps in before the show starts saturday? Most everyone hasnt been able to shake their cars down due to the weather, this might help find some bugs before we go at it for real.
This class has become monkey see monkey do. Nobody knows what the rules are from one place to the next, nor does anyone know what the rules will be come mid season. Seems like everyone is waiting on someone else.
If you remember last year, the tires rule changed in the time between play day and opening night. They werent going to allow us to run the old Emod tires until someone did a fb live video complaining about it, i believe it was Chuck Goodman.
I say January. From a logistical standpoint, its less of a busy time for everyone. November and December tend to fly by with holiday stuff. January is typically a slower month so it would be easier to accomodate the majority. NOTE i am not a fan of releasing the next seasons rules at a banquet...
Just a thought for next year. How bout if youve won a feature in a class higher than bmod (modified, late model, sprint) in the current season, that rules you as ineligible. No rule will make everyone happy but this might be the closest we get to making sense of this deal.
One night at granite city probably about 5 years ago. Dean Hoffman and Michael Long trading sliders and battling tooth and nail in the feature on a really rough track. Long ended up spinning out going for the lead with a couple laps to go, but thats been the race that sticks out to me ever since.
I believe lack of tech and communication has become the issue. A big issue is spring placement on the rear end. UMP rule book states one thing, but alot of tracks allow something else. Btown is not a UMP track but is using UMP rules for this show. Apparently last sunday there were some drivers...
Someone said drug overdose. The ambulance went to a white van in the parking lot. The announcers repeatedly called for someone, whom i believe security finally got. The pevely cop went to the trailer of the 102 car, who was called off the starting grid to talk to them. Driver talked to the cop...
Because of who he is, id be willing to bet nothing happens to Joey. I didnt see the race so i cannot comment on that, but i can and will say this. Crew members need to stay out of altercations between drivers. Its ALWAYS crews that escalate things, i know ive done it more than once myself. If...
Ive seen alot of negative feedback from amod drivers about these tires. Personally, I like them. They seem like theyre holding up pretty well in bmods with crate engines. First few times out they feathered up pretty hard, but after that theyve been very consistent. Emods did have more grip, but...
In other news, i noticed the top 3 bmods were pulled over to the claim area after the feature (including the 42 who was flat flyin). Was anything checked?
