You are right. They had 16 B Mods for $5,000 to win and 10 A Mods for $1,000 to win. That is not very good. Can't stay open with numbers like that. Dropping UMP was not a very wise decision.
Rumors start this time every year about Red Hill opening up. Don't ever see it happening. The place is in the middle of nowhere and the track is terrible.

In 2012 Gilpin had 36 wins at 14 different tracks, in 2013 31 wins at 13 different tracks and in 2014 33 wins at 12 tracks. So he does travel a little.
