    The top 2 from each heat went into the dash, and the dash finish determined the feature lineups. I wasn't directly involved in setting the format, so I can't say for sure who determined the number of heats, but it seemed to work fine.

    What tracks should get a SN date?

    Actually, several of those tracks mentioned above -- Montgomery Co., KLMS, Poplar Bluff and SFCR -- have hosted Summernational events in the past. Not sure why they don't now.

    These days, I'm impressed with a track that does HALF the things on that list successfully. Still too many promoters out there who prefer to operate the way they did 20 years ago and then wonder why their stands and pits are empty. Working hard isn't always the same as working smart.
