One thing I liked about the Tri-City website was that it was different than most of the other track sites from this area. Will it keep the same format, or will it adopt a similar look to the rest of them?
It's been almost a year since this post, and I thought it was interesting to reflect on it with the knowledge of all that has transpired in the past couple of months.
Stranger things, absolutely. Like the rumor of Gundaker buying Tri City actually being true this time. Or how about golden-boy Schrader selling out his people to "Big Brother" Boundless?
What happens if there isn't enough interest from tracks to book the series? What becomes of the racers who have made a major investment in upgrading their equipment? I like the idea of what you're doing, don't get me wrong, but it would appear to me that without any announced tracks, this would...
I don't see the need for Allied to be involved. If it's a rules package you're looking for, Allied is more exclusive, whereas the Tri City rules are inclusive. Simply stated, if you run Allied rules, you are likely going to be at a disadvantage if you wish to venture to another track. If it's...
I got the same impression when I talked to some of the Boundless brass. They remind me of the poor virgin in high school on a date with the class floozie, knowing there is potential for something big to happen, but not sure how it's supposed to work. ;)
And yes, MARS is now property of DIRT.
Anyone can put out a set of rules. That's still no guarantee that they know what they're doing.
Tri City also has their Summernationals, Challenge of Champions and WoO Sprint shows announced (saw it on the other website). But does that guarantee that things are staying the same? No, it just...
I was looking around 4m and ran across this.

Some of those who were there aren't as confident in the future of UMP as others. I wasn't a big supporter of Bob Memmer, but if he were alive, would we even be having this discussion? Did he...
An old Navy buddy of mine lives in Colorado Springs, Co, and he sent me an e-mail the other day. He swears he saw Ken Schrader in town rubbing elbows with the folks from Boundless, Hartslief in particular. At first, I thought he was pulling my leg, but after seeing a few of the posts on 4m, I'm...
BCR is within 20 miles of Highland, so yes, definitely yes. Haven't really spent any decent time at the Mad Cow Fairgrounds since SARA was put out. All those sportsman cars went somewhere, might as well bring them to Greenville. Copy the Tri-City show and get the show in at a decent hour and...
With all due respect noted, dirtman07. I remember the previous promotions that Gundaker was involved in, but to take on a whole season as the promoter of what is potentially the finest track in the St Louis area is a huge undertaking. Again, I wish him all the best, but let's not set ourselves...
All of this assumes these guys will want to race all 3 nights of the weekend. Sure sounds great on paper, but what will the reality of the changeover be? Basically, the Tri-City faithful who have supported the Saturday night weekly show for 2 decades are now being told to find another place to...
