Wooster, OH --- A brand new dirt racing radio program, Dirt Racers Radio, is set to debut on Sunday July 17 on central Ohio powerhouse radio station WQKT, a 52,000 watt radio station based in Wooster, OH and located at 104.5 FM on the dial. The new Dirt Racers Radio program will debut in the same time slot that the departing Thrills On Wheels radio program occupied. The new radio program will air every Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST and will also be available via the internet at: www.WQKT.com The hosts tabbed for the new program are Doc Lehman and Ryan Pearson.

The new program will be undergoing and experimenting with different formats and segments over the next couple weeks but will be committed to bringing listeners all the latest news and results in addition to a wide variety of special guests that will include drivers, sanction officials, promoters, team owners and many others from the world of dirt track racing. While the majority of the show’s content will focus on dirt racing in Ohio, regional and national coverage and guests will also be spotlighted each week.

“This new radio program will be an exciting challenge,” stated Doc Lehman, co-host of Dirt Racers Radio. “With Chuck Griffith departing from the Thrills On Wheels show after six years to pursue some significant media opportunities we feel the dirt racing community, especially locally and regionally, would be better served if a radio program continued in order to help give the teams, tracks and sponsors continued exposure in that avenue of media. Chuck will be a tough act to follow but Ryan Pearson and I will strive to do our best and mold the show into something everyone enjoys.”

“This is going to be great,” added Ryan Pearson, co-host of Dirt Racers Radio. “It has tremendous potential not only locally but also nationally. I'm very lucky to work with Doc Lehman, the experience he brings to the table is unmatched by anyone. To have his resources and knowledge available is a benefit to everyone. I'm just happy to help out and I just want to contribute. To be on the ground level is really cool. I'm also excited for the fans. The upcoming giveaways are awesome just you wait.”

Lehman has been in the dirt racing industry for 32 years and is a former promoter, sanction executive and is currently a motorsports journalist for five national racing publications. In addition he is also the owner of the DirtAmericaOnline.com website and Lehman Motorsports Services, a marketing & public relations company. Lehman also serves as a co-host of the national Dirt Nation presented by Lucas Oil radio program broadcast at Racetalklive.com each Monday evening.

Pearson is a relative newcomer to dirt racing and is a former Mini Stock driver who competed for two years at tracks like Wayne County, Lakeville, Ohio Valley, Skyline and Midway speedways and is currently the Public Relations Director and Announcer at Wayne County Speedway. Pearson also spent nearly a year as the co-host of the Thrills On Wheels radio program that aired over WQKT.

Appearing on the debut show on Sunday July 17 will be special in-studio guest Rick Bond of Mansfield, OH. Bond is a popular central Ohio dirt Late Model star who drives the Rod Eddleblute-owned Rocket Chassis/Pro Power Racing Engines #007 sponsored by Rod Eddleblute’s Garage, Custom Exhaust, Rodney Bond Septic, Sophie’s Custom Embroidary, Finish Line Bar, Hale’s Harley Davidson, Mason Racin’, American Racer Tires and QA1 Shocks.

Also appearing will be Earl Pearson, Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, a top national dirt Late Model star who was the 2004 Xtreme Dirt Car Series national points champion and who currently competes on the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series in the Dunn Benson Ford Motorsports-owned Rocket Chassis/Larry Wallace Engines #1 sponsored by Lucas Oil, Dunn-Benson Ford, Sunoco Race Fuels, Allstar Performance, Stuckey Enterprises and Panther Motorsports Design.
