LAS VEGAS, NV (March 4) – Danny Lasoski was leading the World of Outlaws Sprint Series point standings heading into The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway a year ago. The 2001 champion expects to improve his sixth-place ranking when the series returns for the Las Vegas Outlaw Nationals Presented by J.D. Byrider Thursday and Friday.

"The Dude" set fast time in the preliminary and feature racing programs at Manzanita Speedway and last Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway, but is ready for a visit to victory lane. He has won three main events in Las Vegas, including a double-feature sweep of the World of Outlaws 2003 season finale.

"Three fast times in three races is something this race team is very proud of," Lasoski said. "Paul Kistler and all the work that he's put into our Mopar engines has really given us a lot of confidence here at the beginning of the season. But you know us racers; we always want something more. Now we want a win. Las Vegas has been a really good track for me, and with my buddy and car owner Tony Stewart over there at the big track this weekend we want to put on a good show for him. The weather is looking a lot better than it did earlier this week in California, so we're really looking forward to going racing again."

Stewart, who ranks sixth in the NASCAR Nextel Cup standings, is eager to see his #20 J.D. Byrider Eagle in action.

"I'll be able to do what I need to do with The Home Depot Chevrolet and still have plenty of time to go over to The Dirt Track and watch Danny and the team," Stewart said. "I'll have all Thursday night with them and then, as soon as I'm done with qualifying on Friday, I'll head over to The Dirt Track. I'll be busy as a car owner working with the team, but that's something I look forward to. It's why I'm involved with the World of Outlaws."

Lasoski, who ranked second in the points race behind Steve Kinser the last two years, finished 10th in the Cactus Classic at Manzanita and third at Perris Auto Speedway. "The Dude" is only 18 points behind standings leader Tyler Walker.
