‘Kid Rocket’ To Sign Autographs At ‘Motorsports 2005’

Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards, the 16-year-old dirt Late Model phenom from Shinnston, WV, will be a special guest and part of the three day Motorsports 2005 Presented by Sunoco Motorsports Extravaganza taking place at the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center, January 14th through January 16th. ‘Kid Rocket’ will also have his Mark Richards Racing-owned Rocket Chassis/Cornett Engines #1 on display over the weekend at the Area Auto Racing News booth.

Richards will be at the Area Auto Racing News booth on Saturday January 15 at 5:00 PM to sign autographs and meet race fans.

The show, set to open at 1:00 PM on January 14th and closing at 5:00 PM on January 16th, will feature many opportunities for fans to collect autographs from their favorite national, regional and local motorsports stars. More than 40,000 people are expected to attend the show. More than 250 motorsports vehicles, representing all divisions of competition will be on display throughout the 300,000 square feet of show space with more than 600 exhibit spaces offering just about everything imaginable in motorsports.

The Northeast’s largest auto racing trade show will have more than 350 vendors offering aftermarket parts, safety equipment, car haulers, collectibles, and so much more. In addition many speedways and organizations will be on hand to give fans and racers the latest information on their 2005 season plans. Many fans use the information/schedules gathered at the show to plan their entire season. And again this year there will be a large number of seminars/workshops featuring a variety of experts and admission is free for show attendees.

After one start in 2003, Josh Richards started his racing career in earnest in 2004 and in addition to attending weekly and independent events at a variety of tracks, he also participated in a majority of the season with the WoO LMS.

“Officials from Dirt Motorsports told us they were very impressed with Josh’s performance this year and would like him to run for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Rookie of the Year title next season,” revealed Mark Richards, Josh’s father and the owner of Mark Richards Racing. “We’d like to do it, but we’ll have to get out there and find some additional sponsorship funding to take Josh on the road full time.”

The 16-year-old High School junior ‘Kid Rocket’ drives the Mark Richards Racing owned Rocket Chassis/Cornett Engines #1 sponsored by Seubert Calf Ranches, Imler’s Poultry, MCB Motorsports and Rocket Chassis. Richards is also a teammate to Rocket Chassis ‘house car’ driver Bart Hartman.
