Creston, OH --- Some call them ‘Mr. & Mrs. Late Model’ but for the popular north central Ohio dirt Late Model racing team of Jason & Kristin Flory it’s all about the racing and for 2007 that’s exactly what the duo will be doing. The team has announced that in 2007 they will be both be racing each night together throughout the season and will kick off at East Bay Raceway in Florida for the 31st Annual East Bay Winternationals at the East Bay Raceway in Tampa, FL scheduled February 5th – 10th sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series before venturing off on an independent regional schedule.

“I’m probably more excited this year than I have been in a long time,” stated Jason Flory, who just came off winning the 2006 Wayne County Speedway championship. “This year I’m going with my guns loaded. Realistically for Florida for me is good qualifying and if I could make three out of the six I’d be happy. Its probably one of the most action packed tracks we’ve been to. It’s perfect.”

“This will be our third year racing at East Bay and I’m more excited for Jason,” commented Kristin Flory, the 2003 Lakeville Speedway champion. “I feel he has a better shot at making the shows for the fact he has better equipment than I do, everything he has is top of the line. But I feel I have a shot, everyone has a shot. If I can have a good qualifying run I can be in there the same as anyone else.”

“I really like the track, it fits my style. I like the short tracks. I really like the 3/8 and shorter tracks.”

Both are also excited about returning to competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series again. “The Lucas Oil series is one of the best around because of the tire rule and they way they treat people,” offered Jason. “They try to keep expenses low for the racers and they don’t care if you’re Scott Bloomquist or Jason Flory, they treat everyone the same I feel.”

“I agree with Jason about the Lucas Oil series, every time we go to one of their races they come up and talk to us and they really try to keep the drivers informed,” added Kristin. “They are really nice people to work with.”

The husband-wife racing duo will both be in Mastersbilt Race Cars again with Jason in his #02 and Kristin in her #U2. Sponsorship will come from J & D Truck Leasing, Ray’s Garage, Medina Mountain Motors, Donnie Moran Racing, S & S Engines, Mason Racin’, Lias Tires, Winar Connections and Kurt’s Auto Parts.

After capturing his career first championship last season Jason Flory indicated that the pair will run an independent regional schedule in 2007.

“Hagerstown opens the third week of February so we’ll be there,” revealed Jason. “We may not hit every one there but we plan on a couple of their Sunday shows. But tentatively we’ll both be there racing.”

“We plan on looking at some of the $2,000 and $5,000 to win shows in the region, it’s smart racing. But we’ll also be at some Lucas Oil, MACS and (World of) Outlaw shows too. I want to win, that’s what I’m here for.”

“We could be anywhere on Saturdays. We plan on being at KC, Portsmouth, Midway is an UMP track now and I love that place. They’ll have some Sunoco (ALMS) races down there with UMP sanctioning so we’ll be there.”

“We’ll probably end up in West Virginia and western Pennsylvania and other places. We used to go to Pittsburgh and Challenger is over there. If it’s raining in Ohio we’ll find somewhere to go, we don’t mind traveling.”

And that plan suits his wife just fine. “We want to race at Lakeville on Friday nights but if a better paying race comes up close by we’ll go there so we’re not going to get into any point thing for this year,” said Kristin. “We want to hit KC more this year, Wayne County and we’ll hit Muskingum and some other tracks.”

A team website is being planned for spring and they are tentatively planning on merchandising. But for now the team is making final preparations for East Bay Raceway and the entire 2007 season with a positive outlook. They have also signed with Lehman Motorsports Services for public relations services.

“This season ought to be exciting as anything (laughs),” said Jason. “It will be good. I look at it like, we have two race cars and if the wheels aren’t turning we aren’t getting anything done. Two cars are better than one so we’ll be racing together each weekend.”

“I have a good feeling about this year,” added Kristin. “We haven’t really done a lot of racing together because of the competition thing (laughs). I think it will be good for us. We’ll be racing against each other as well as everyone else. Its not going to be, ‘Oh, he should be in front of me’, its going to be right down dirty racing (laughs).”

Jason then bottom-lined their philosophy for the season ahead. “I do a lot of talking so now I have to do some walking. I feel like everything goes right I can duplicate a five-win season and I really feel I can do it. I got a taste of it last year and want some more.”

More information on Jason & Kristin Flory and their 2007 season will be released soon.
