On Monday night March 14 dirt track star ‘Young Guns’ from the worlds of dirt Late Model, Modified & Sprint Car racing will be spotlighted on DIRT NATION presented by Switchme.net, one of the hottest dirt racing oriented radio programs to hit the airwaves. Five young future stars will hit the airwaves Monday with the Rat Pack. 16-year-old Matt “The Delaware Destroyer” Hubbard, a dirt Late Model driver, will hit the big shows along the east coast and with Midwestern forays including MACS, NARA, WoO LMS, SAS and independent events this season. For 2005, the team will be using new CJ Rayburn Chassis with Custom Racing Engines and carrying sponsorship support from Behrent’s Performance Warehouse, CJ Rayburn Race Cars, Custom Race Engines, Fleet Sales, Inc., Hab Nab Trucking, Hoosier Tire and Michelle Petroff Promotions.

Rusty Schlenk, 18, of Jackson, MI, another dirt Late Model star, is a three-time rookie of the year and won his career first dirt Late Model race on his 16th birthday at Oakshade Raceway. Schlenk drives the CJ Rayburn/Russell Baker Engines #91 sponsored by Plymouth Concrete, Performance Automotive and CJ Rayburn. Schlenk won five features last season out of 43 starts.

20-year-old DIRT Modified star Ryan “The Rocket” Phelps of Fulton, NY started racing in 1996 and has already accumulated 28 wins. He currently races in both the DIRT Big Block Modified and 358 Modified competition in cars owned by Roger Phelps and Fred Beesmer and runs TEO Pro chassis cars with engines constructed by Jim Bowman and Finger Lakes Machine. Among the sponsors of Phelps’ #99 are Big Red Towing Stadium, International Trucks, Fred Beesmer Racing, Heroux Excavation, Dave Miller Auto Body, Roger Phelps Quality Used Cars and Charlie Uplinger.

Jamie Martin, 21, a Sprint Car phenom from Wooster, OH, spent much of his career racing and winning in 360 Sprint Cars. For 2005 Martin will run 360 Sprint races as well as starting a 410 Sprint Car career. A regular at Mercer Raceway Park, Martin runs the family owned #15 Sprint Car sponsored by Orrville Trucking & Grading, Santmyer Oil, Roto-Rooter, K&N Air Filters, Outerwears Racing Accessories, Draime Racing Engines, Wirt Towing, Dalton Car Wash and PEL Electric.

Renee Weeks, 19, of Powhatan, VA, will also appear. Weeks drives in the ultra-competitive Budweiser Modified division at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway. Starting her career in Go Karts, she went straight to E-Mods and drives the Central Virginia Bank / Whitlow Chevrolet / Bret Hamilton Enterprises / Weeks Custom Car / Flat Rock Sporting Goods / Chevrolet powered Hamilton Chassis. 2005 will be her fourth year in the Modified division. Weeks finished fifth in points in 2004 and was voted 2004 Most Popular Driver in Modifieds at VMS.
