Atlanta, GA. – Chub Frank and the 1* team made the 20 plus hour trip to Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas last Thursday to compete with the World of Outlaw Late Models on Friday and Saturday. The Outlaws also had an open practice on Thursday night. “This place is fast,” stated the 4 time Renegade DirtCar Series Champion.

On Friday night Chub unloaded the 1* rocket for qualifying and went out to qualify and had mechanical problems with the primary car and ended up 37th out of 38 cars entered. The team crew headed up by Rick (Boom) Briggs quickly unloaded the backup Corry Rubber, Allstar Performance, Nystrom's Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Slavic Racing Shirts, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo #1*, and Chub ran 6th in the first heat race and the night just keep getting better for Chub and the team and they would finish Friday night with a 19th place finish. “This place is tough to pass on,” remarked Chub right after the feature.

On Saturday evening the team returned to Lone Star Speedway for night #2 and the $12,000 first place prize money. Timing in sixth quickest during time trials Chub ran his competitive heat race and crossed the checkers second in position right behind Tim McCreadie. Starting the feature event in sixth position, Bart Hartman took the immediate lead. By the third lap Chub was up to fourth with Scott Bloomquist moving in right behind. By the tenth tour of the track Chub passed Billy Moyer for third and by the 17th lap Chub had powered into second position and a hotly contested battle with Bloomquist ensued during the remaining portion of the 50-lap main event.

“Hartman’s team had done their homework and had hit the right set up, we were a little to too soft on the tires to be able to challenge him for the win” remarked Chub. Frank who has recently suffered a devastating fire at
his race shop in Pennsylvania was happy to come away from Texas with a good finish. “I just wanted to thank all of the fans, drivers, and Boundless Motor Sports officials for their overwhelming support after the fire.”
