“Kid Rocket” Races in Michigan

Shinnston, WV --- Shortly after getting out of school on Friday Josh and his dad Mark headed for Lima, OH. where the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series traveled for their first appearance in Ohio in 2005 for the $10,000 to win “Outlaw Night 60 presented by The University of Northwestern Ohio” at Limaland Motosports Park. Joe Paxton and the rest of The Mark Richards team had “Kid Rockets” Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Gran Prix unloaded and ready for tonight’s action but shortly after arriving at the race track a power failure occurred, the result from severe weather forced postponement of the Friday night event for the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series sanctioned event. Officials of the WoO Stacker 2® Late Model Series and Limaland Motorsports Park will search for a possible reschedule date.

On Saturday morning the entire “Kid Rocket” team headed up I-69 into Michigan to Quincy, Michigan for the scheduled "Wolverine Nationals 50" with a $45,000 purse and paying $10,000 to win at The Butler Battlegrounds sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series this race marked the very first appearance for the WoO LMS tour in Michigan.

Over 50 race teams signed in for the "Wolverine Nationals 50". “Kid Rockets” team unloaded the Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Gran Prix for tonight’s event and Josh qualified it 4th quick and that placed him in the 4th heat race which he went on to win, putting Josh in the dash race where he finished in 3rd locking him into the 3rd starting position for the “Wolverine Nationals 50". At the start of the feature Darren Miller and Rick Eckert got by Josh and they ran single file for most of the 50 laps on the one lane race track and Josh finished in 5th for the event moving him solidly into the top 10 in World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series points. Clint Smith won with Darren Miller in second Rick Eckert was third followed by Tim McCreadie and Josh.

This coming weekend Kid Rocket will return to the WoO LMS trail with events scheduled for Brushcreek MotorSports Complex in Peebles, OH on Friday May 20th and then on to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday May 21st.
