“King of the Hill” Await the NCRA Late Models This Weekend!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas - August 4, 2014 - Current touring point leader Kyle Berck of Marquette, Nebraska will lead the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products late model division to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska this coming Friday and Saturday night, August 8-9, for the 11[sup]th[/sup] annual “King of the Hill Late Model Shootout.”For the second year in a row the MARS DIRTcar and Lucas Oil MLRA late model series will also be competing and will feature some of the best late model drivers in the region.
Looking to claim his third career series late model championship, Berck currently leads the point standings by 165 points over Haysville, Kansas driver Chris Kratzer. Jeremy Petty sits third in the standings (-280) while Wylan Petrie and Mike Wiarda round out the top five. Berck currently has four tour victories thus far this season and now sits with 30 career series feature victories.
Berck and the rest of the series followed will go up against current MARS DIRTcar point leader Tony Jackson, Jr. Jackson holds a 73 point lead over Justin Asplin while Jesse Stovall sits 147 points out of the lead. Other MARS stars expected include Leroy Johnson, Brandon McCormick, Jeff Roth, Missouri’s Jason Hughes, Josh Hughes and Will Vaught.
Representing the MLRA will be current point leader Chad Simpson as well as touring regulars Travis Dickes, Dave Eckrich, Ryan Gustin, Scott Lewis, John Anderson, Tommy Weder, Jr. and Will Vaught.
A whole list of talented Nebraska based late model drivers are also expected, including Jace Kaser, Robbie Anderson, Kyle Dumpert, Brian Kosiski, Bill Leighton, Jr., Tad Pospisil, Andrew Kosiski, Steve Kempt, Chris Avery, Justin Gregg, Junior Coover and Dan Battaglia.
Over thirty drivers from a six state area are expected for this two day event which will pay $2000 to Friday night’s feature finale winner while Saturday night’s championship feature winner will earn $3000 and be crowned “King of the Hill.”
