Midwest Speed, Inc. has announced plans for the 1st Annual 4 Cylinder World Championship to be held October 16, 2004 at the World's fastest 1/5 Mile MACON Speedway in Macon, Illinois. The event will be 50 laps and will pay the winner an unheard of $1,000.00 to win, $50.00 to start for the hornet division! Also on the card for the event is a $1,000.00 to win, $75.00 to start event for modifieds running under UMP rules and a $350.00 to win event for the street stock class.
Additionally, all hornet and modified drivers can get a tune-up this coming weekend in preperation for the October 16th event. Macon Speedway track promoter Rich Webb has announced a $3,500.00 to win LABOR DAY modified special on tap for September 3 and September 4. The hornets will also run a regular show at this event on Friday September 3rd, and...... the winner of the hornet division event will be guaranteed a starting spot in the October 16th $1,000.00 to win event presented by Midwest Speed, Inc. For details or information on the Labor Day event, Macon Speedway promoter Rich Webb can be reached by calling (217) 764-3770.
The race season will have ended at most Midwestern tracks and the UMP Points will have ended the week prior to this event, so there should be a nice turnout of competitors on hand!
Pit passes are $25.00 for each division with general admission $10.00 for adults and free for children 11 and under with a paid adult. There is an entry fee for the Hornet division and the Modified division of $20.00 if recieved prior to September 15, 2004. If recieved after September 15, the entry fee is $30.00 per car in those divisions. There is NO ENTRY FEE for the street stock class.
Mark your calendars now to be part of the festivities as we crown a WORLD CHAMPION Hornet division driver, in a fun filled day of activities. There will also be fan give-aways, door prizes and contingencies for the race divisions to be announced soon!
Eagle Chassis and the world renowned Jungle Jim's Cafe has also agreed to sponsor a bicycle giveaway, where several lucky children will recieve a brand new shiny bicycle as a door prize giveaway!
