This Saturday night, April 25th, Earl and Susan Walls kick off their sixteenth year as owners and promoters of CMS in Warrensburg, Missouri for the KOKO 1450 AM Radio season opener at the track. Fans of modified racing have come to expect the region's standout modified competitors to race on a weekly basis at the high-banked oval and this year should be no exception as racers take to the new clay surface in hopes of capturing the weekly $1,000-to-win payday! CMS drivers will be glad to hear that all purses remain the same as last year in the returning divisions, which includes A-mods, Street Stocks, and B-Modifieds. The newly added Bomber division will pay $150 to win. With a $6,200 weekly modified purse, expect nothing less than the fiercest competitors going for the win each and every week. Second place pays $700, with third receiving $600, fourth $500; fifth place goes home with $450. Complete payout information for all divisions is available on the track's Web site at www.centralmissourispeedway.net. Last year's defending and two-time track champion, Aaron Marrant leads the modified contingent into this weekend's curtain raiser. One of the best things about CMS in the modified division is … you never know who is going to pull through the gates.

This year's championship season features eighteen regular nights of racing, which culminates the second Saturday in September. In addition to the regular championship points season, there will also be three separate Friday and Saturday events for a total of 24 big racing nights, making this year's schedule one of the busiest at the track in recent memory. Only a few days remain for fans to purchase season passes. Season passes include all weekly races on the schedule as well as special events, which consist of two $3,000-to-win modified special races and one $5,000-to-win modified special race. Also included are Friday night $1,500-to-win events for Street Stocks and B-Modifieds, and one of only three appearances by the ULMA Late Models at the track this year. Season pass prices are: Seniors 65 and up $200; regular adult $250; and children $150. Each category boasts a savings of at least $50 off regular admission prices. Call Susan Walls at (816) 229-1338 to reserve your season passes before it is too late!

All the fun begins this Saturday with pit gates swinging open at 4:30 p.m., pit passes remain at $25. Drivers are reminded that registration paperwork is required for all divisions; the registration fee is $60. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m., general admission for adults is $10; senior citizens 65 and up as well as college students and military members with proper I.D. $8; admission for kids six to twelve years old $6 with children five and under free. Hot laps take to the track at 7 p.m. and newly engaged flagman Hershel Thompson's first green flag of the year drops at 7:30 p.m.

CMS wishes to thank Racecar Bob Hiller, Dean Wille, Steve Hisle, Chad Eickleberry, the Bryan Montgomery Family, Charlie and Jacob Ebert, Herb Dannar, James McMillin, and Sonny Grace for attending and displaying cars at last Saturday afternoon's CMS car show, the cars looked great!

Check out the track's Web site for complete schedule, rules, and additional. CMS is located on Highway 13 just three-and-a-half miles north of the intersection of Highways 50 and 13 in Warrensburg, Missouri, or 14 miles south of Interstate 70 from the Higginsville exit.
