Unilli Money Series rolls into Cerro Gordo Speedway for Round 2.
(Cerro Gordo, Illinois) Twenty three entries took the track for night one of the Unilli Money Series and set the stage for an exciting series. Shawn O'Neill of Belluvue, Illinois had a commanding lead until the one caution that came late in main event bunched the field back together. From there Ty England took the lead and never looked backed taking home the thousand dollars and the top spot in the points standings. Night two out of the five night series heads back to Cerro Gordo Speedway in Illinois and drivers and teams are ready. After rains and unseasonably low temperatures have put all but a stop to many tracks in the Midwest it has drivers and teams eager to get back on the track. You add that plus alot of money up for grabs and its a recipe for a great night of racing
The Unilli Money Series pays $1000.00 to the winner of each event and $500.00 for each position second through fifth. The Adult Clone 380lbs was chosen in the inaugural year as it is the class that is most common in the Midwest. Teams travelled from Kentucky, Indiana, Wisconsin, and all over Illinois on night one and many of the same faces will be returning to take a shot at the thousand dollars again this Friday night. Also on tap will be a 60 lap feature for the stock mediums. They will be going 60 laps for a $400.00 purse with entries of fifteen or more. There will also be all of our weekly racing classes on the card. All weekly classes will remain open tire and all entry fees remain the same as they have been. The Cerro Gordo Speedway is located on the Piatt County Fairgrounds in Cerro Gordo, Illinois. Gates open at 4pm this Friday. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing to follow.
