Both nights the broadcast will pick up wherever the race program is at and stay until the conclusion of the $10,000 to win main events each evening.

After a weekend off, The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series picks back up this Friday and Saturday, October 7th and 8th with a visit to Dixie Speedway for the 16th Annual "Dixie Shootout" presented by Coca-Cola. There will be two complete nights of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series racing action with the presentation of the "Jimmy Mosteller Classic" on Friday Night, October 7 and the "Lucas Oil Shootout" on Saturday Night, October 8. Friday Night will feature Oval Craft Racing Aluminum Designs Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and PPM Racing Products B-Mains along with a 50 lap A-Main event paying $10,000 to win and $700 to start.

Saturday evening’s event will see drivers draw for starting positions in the VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races along with the running of the Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and PPM Racing Products B-Mains the evening will be topped off with the 50 Lap Lucas Oil A-Main event paying $10,000 to win and $700 to start. The cameras of ESPN2 will catch the main event action on Saturday Night for the second year in a row as they will be on hand to tape the event which will be shown on a date and time to be announced in the near future.

The "Jimmy Mosteller Classic" will be a tribute to Jimmy Mosteller, the veteran announcer who has been in the sport of racing for over 50 years. He was Senior Vice President of Hav-A-Tampa for 47 years and is a member of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame at Florence Speedway in Union, KY. He has announced at over 100 tracks in the southeast during his announcing career and he founded the Hav-A-Tampa Late Model Series back in 1990. To this day he still makes guest appearances at both Dixie Speedway and Rome Speedway in Rome, GA.

The "Lucas Oil Shootout" will mark the 16th Annual event that highlights the season at Dixie Speedway. The late Bill Ingram was the inaugural winner of the event back in 1990 with Tony Reaid, Buddy Morris, 3 time winner, Scott Bloomquist, Bill Frye, Wendell Wallace, Billy Moyer, Tim Hitt, 2 time winner, Dale McDowell, Chub Frank, Don O'Neal and last year's race winner, Shannon Babb having their names etched in the record books as previous "Shootout" winners.

There will be a considerable amount of bonus money up for grabs this weekend at Dixie Speedway. There will be a $10,000 bonus to the highest finishing driver on Saturday Night that raced on Friday. Also a driver can snag an additional $10,000 if a driver wins both nights and if that driver is a previous "Shootout" winner they will earn an additional $10,000. So there is a possibility to pocket $50,000 if a driver wins both nights and is a past "Shootout" winner.

Dixie Speedway will be the site this upcoming weekend with a whale of a points race among the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors. There have been 30 events contested in 2005 with 18 different event winners and with 536 different drivers racing with the series at least once in '05 the Lucas Oil late Model Dirt Series has stamped itself as a national touring series where the excitement and competitiveness is second to none.

Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN heads to Dixie Speedway not only in the points lead by 25 points over Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, but also as a previous Dixie Shootout Champion. O'Neal scored the biggest win of his racing career as he pocketed $55,000 for winning the Shootout back in 2003. The "O" show rolls into Dixie with a series leading seven victories. Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH sits third 160 points out of first place. Pearson has two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series wins and Moran has three. Matt Miller of Waterville, OH is fourth in points and has recorded two series wins in '05 and Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN rests in fifth with one series triumph this season.
