Attached is the parade lap of the 1962 Indianapolis 500, starting with Row Two. Hurray for the crisp, clean roadsters !!


Check out that crowd, and a field with American cars, drivers and a loyal fan base. Wish we still had that kind of fan enthusiasm and driver interest.

That's when it was a real race, American ingenuity at its finest! The rule book was just a few pages and could be carried in your shirt pocket. In those days Indy was the biggest thing going, hands down.
 
Man those cars are total death traps. Took a real pair to drive those cars. I remember dad having it on the radio ( no tv coverage then). Good memories. Thanks for posting.

maybe racing could think about that less rules easier to tech esp when you have 5 ,6 even 7 classes
