The American Short Track Nationals for Late Models will hit the track this Tuesday night, September 14th, at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. Ray Guss Jr. topped a stellar field of over forty Late Models in last year's inaugural event that saw NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace in competition against the top Late Model drivers in the Midwest. This year Kenny Schrader will join Wallace in Donnellson to see if he can be the man to beat for the $2,000 top prize. Rules for this event will allow drivers to run either spec engines or open engines at the 3/8-mile oval tucked in the extreme southeast corner of Iowa.
Hobby Stocks, racing for $500-to-win, and the 4-cylinder "Wild Things" will also be on the card for a complete night of short track racing action.
A limited number of VIP tickets that include dinner, drinks and a pre-race autograph session with Schrader and Wallace are still available by calling the Speedway at (319) 528-4301. For more info go to www.leecountyspeedway.com.
