2 day show

IF_______ I was the manager or track promoter I would give some serious consideration ----that a 2 day show this week would be the ticket. With no other place racing---hmmmmm---maybe a good shot in the right direction??I would have also run last saturday nite after cancelling on friday--with Farmington closed.I could be wrong,As I have been many times in the past.Maybe a little feed back from everyone would help also!Boy what a car count IF it were a $300 to win sat for pure streets with 15 car minimum--and $500 to win on Sat for the A- mods with 15 car min and $350 to win for B-mods.Something for everyone to think about.JMO--or how about some more ideas and -a commitment from some may help.

Also I see Doe Run will be closed this week also------Boy what a field of cars for a 2 day show-I know a couple of sponsors who would also help with a 2 day show----what does everyone think????hell I may even go on the Stl racing main page and post!!!!!If I get enough postive feed back. There are SEVERAL I know who would show up sat in the mod class.-cmon give me some feed back--what does everyone think???

are we talking about two different events or are we talking like one night for all the heats and last knight nothing but mains?

open to all ideas and participation--I would like to know what everyone thinks----will the track go along with this also?????jim

soon this track will close too for the lack of promotion, you can give ideas mr junkman, but you can lead a "donkey" to water but you can't make him drink. this track has a bad rep.

You also really can't plan a two day show 3 days before the weekend.
Thats correct, this was tried a few years ago with a dismal result. I'm not saying it could not work, but more time would have to be givin for racers and the track to be prepared. I for one could not afford the double the cost of racing and fuel expenses on a short notice. If planned ahead I could. Jon Reando

crash 9 -the races were cancelled at fredericktown one evening about 2 months ago,I made a few phone calls and in (2) hours we had 11 pure streets show up and race at doe run and I will say had a wonderful night of races. They had the best show of the night----not bad for (2) hour notice.---BUT---I can see in the last 24 hours there was--- NOT--- enough support for this to happen.Hell the track promoters, owners, managers, will not even show any support.Maybe a poor idea to start with,I was only thinking of the drivers, owners, and fans.----Jim Randolph

Well if there was enough cars show up for both nights to run i think that would help the track out.....the way things are goin right now its like they dont even wanna race on friday nights that are scheduled race nights.

Jimmy: Jeff was @ work last night when you started this post, got home @ 7 am, & slept today. He works nights & doesn’t keep up with this forum during the week. JP is the moderator. He lets Jeff know if anything needs answered. I catch up every few days but not on a regular basis. I’m sorry if you feel like we don’t give enough attention to the track but honestly, there just isn’t enough time in our day during the week. Jeff & I both work full time jobs, raise our boys, upkeep a farm, & squeeze a little sleep in here & there. You know you can call Jeff anytime... that is really the best way to reach him. He has always been open to ideas, ran all sorts of classes, held special shows, etc. His number is (573)701-4980. Hope to see ya Friday night! Bring some firecrackers!
"Grim Reaper": Its people like you that keep us from reading this forum on a regular basis. I notice you don't put your name on your posts... Opinions are everyone's freedom but @ least be a big boy & sign your name. AND...if you have better ideas, meet me @ the gate Friday night. I will be glad to crown you the new Track Manager! Until you have rode that DONKEY, don’t pass judgement!
Chuncky Butt: The ONLY time we have had to cancel our racing program was either because of rain, the severe threat of storms, or equiptment failure. Wouldn't you have been one of the first to complain behind a fictitious name on here if the track was crap? Both of my boys race @ The Rock & we love nothing more than watching them race so your supposition is WRONG but thanks for trying.

Should be a great night Friday... It's double points night for all of our regular classes, the B-Mods are joining us, & the high temp is only 90 degrees! WOO HOO! Look forward to seeing everyone then!

"Until you have rode that DONKEY", perhaps I should mention that when stating YOUR opinion, it might be wise to use correct grammar. That being said it should be noted that my insult had nothing to do with any kind of equestrian activities but instead it was to simply point out that from what I have read on this forum, the Donkey, has been given plenty of valid ideas and suggestions and they have all gone in one ear and out the other. It also should be noted that it is extremely sexist of you to assume that I am male.

I wasnt hiding behind a fictional name...Im Garrett Mathes drive the blue 44 purestreet...I didnt get on here to bad mouth or anything but I was just stating a fact about the races behind cancelled atleast twice on friday mornings when it would rain that morning but be dry and clear the rest of the day....Im not on here to talk crap or bad mouth im just sayin from m y point of view and apparently others to that it just dont look good for the track.

There will not be a 2 day show at the ROCK this weekend. I will agree it would have to be planned and would have been a great idea. We do know the local tracks are not running this weekend that was discussed and the B MODS will be the gust at the ROCK this Friday evening giving them a chance to run with an added pot. Remember there are concessions and track workers that also need to be included in the equation to run a show. Like said above everyone (track worker, fans, racers, pit crews, etc etc etc all have activities going on. This is also the case when Sundays were discussed for racing.
