Federated Auto Parts @ I-55 2018 classes announced for I-55

we have turned our Sportsman into a b mod several times and raced it w the b mods.
And several tracks run Sportsmans. Just have to travel abit. Some tracks run them from time to time. They race them at Macon several times a year, Taylorville 2 times a year, Lincoln, Farmer City, and I-55 .. Get the car count up other tracks close will pick them up. Plenty of cars out there. Cars are forsale. Lets keep this class alive ...

I want to make it clear that I am not against the sportsman class in general,I just wish all the tracks had the same classes. I just feel sportsman and B mods would "generally" attract the same level of racer with similar budgets and are redundant somewhat to b mods. With the B mod class really growing, I just doubt there is anyway for the sportsman class to grow now with only one or two tracks to run at.. I also have only lived here 2 years so i don't have a longterm view of what the tracks did in the past, so I apologize for my ignorance when it comes to history of racing in this area. I will say this, support all the area tracks because the racing here is for sure better then where I moved from.

Arnt guys turning their sportsman chassis into b mod chassis?
. I dont think there is a specific rule stating you cant turn a sportsman into a b mod. If that is the case i know of three that wouldnt pass tech. These tracks have such a variety of rules is one issue. Like a b mod at peveley isnt the same as here. But they can run competitive and three link cars are getting better and better at keeping up. Think eilers dar is 3 link and isnt chuck goodmans? Either way its totally doable to make a sportman into a b mod. You just have to realize your running against 4 bar cars and quick change rear ends as well. Not a nig disadvantage just stating the obvious

I've known of several sportsman turn into mods over the years. I think what they quit allowing was guys taking fenders off the sportsman and running with them.
