Pevely, MO - (July 25, 2003) M&M's presents the 2nd Annual I-55 Raceway Night of Stars on Wednesday, July 30th. The excitement is back in 2003 as Kenny Schrader once again plays host to NASCAR Winston Cup stars. This season Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace, Kevin Harvick and reigning Winston Cup champion Tony Stewart along with Busch Series veteran Jason Keller and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers Rick Crawford and Carl Edwards are slated to join the fun.
All proceeds from this year's M&M'S Night of Stars will once again go to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty. Fans will make contributions via M&M's Night of Stars ticket sales, t-shirts sales and a raffle for a Dirt Works Modified roller chassis. Fans may also make cash contributions directly to the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Last year's event, a 10-lap shootout with NASCAR superstars giving their all in dirt modified race cars, raised $114,626 for the Victory Junction Gang Camp for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.
This year's event will feature great racing action including the U.M.P(United Midwestern Promoters) Late Model Challenge of Champion Series with $2,000 going to the winner. Ken Schrader and Carl Edwards have also confirmed they will compete with the top dirt late model stars in the U.M.P. Late Model division. Winged Sprint Cars will also be in competition and will be competing for a $2,000 top prize as well. The NASCAR stars will take to the track in Dirt Works Modifieds in a 10 lap shootout as well.
Gates are scheduled to open at 3 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. There will also be a two hour autograph session with all the NASCAR stars before the racing starts. There will be two separate lines for autographs. The NASCAR stars will sign as many autographs as possible in the two hours, but each individual may only get one autograph from each NASCAR star.
I-55 Raceway is located 30 minutes south of the St. Louis Gateway Arch on Interstate 55 at exits 180 or 178. If coming from the north, take exit 180 (Pevely exit) and go east (left) on Hwy Z for approximately one mile to Hwy 61/67. Go south (right) on Hwy 61/67 for approximately two miles and go west (right) on Herky-Horine Road. Follow Herky-Horine Road to the track. If coming from the south, take exit 178 (Herculaneum exit) and go east (right) on McNutt Street for approximately one mile to Hwy 61/67. Go north (left) on Hwy 61/67 for approximate one mile and go west (left) on Herky-Horine Road. Follow Herky-Horine Road to the track.
