An agreement was reached this week with famed dirt track announcer Ozzie
Altman to do the play-by-play at each event for the newly formed Southern
Nationals Series. Ozzie brings a wealth of information and talent to the
announcer's booth and will be sure to entertain all of the fans.

In addition to the previously announced sponsors, Ray Cook would like to
announce several new contingency sponsors. Barry Wright Race Cars, of
Cowpens, SC, will provide $100 to the highest finishing Barry Wright car at
each event. American Race Tire will provide two tires each night to
qualified drivers and will provide four tires to the highest finishing point
man that raced on American Race Tires. PPM Racing Products will provide a
$50 gift certificate to the Hard Charger each night. MasterSbilt Race Cars,
of Crothersville, IN, will pay out $500 to the crew chief of the points
winning driver. They will also pay $250 to the crew chief of the driver
that finishes second in the inaugural Southern Nationals point standings.

The Southern Nationals Series would like to thank all of the following
companies for their support of the newly-formed series: American Race Tire,
Barry Wright Race Cars, BRT Racing Products, Hoosier Racing Tire, J.B.
Performance, MasterSbilt Race Cars, PPM Racing Products, Race It, and
Schaeffer's Oil.

"Everything is coming together nicely," stated promoter Ray Cook from his
Brasstown, NC shop on Thursday afternoon. "I am really pleased to bring
Ozzie Altman on board to do our announcing. He does an excellent job and he
should add a lot of excitement for the fans. We now have quite a few
contingency sponsors and that will do nothing but make it better for the
racers. There are a lot of people that have been calling and are interested
in running with our series. Some say they can run the first three races and
others are interested in running the last five races. Weather is going to
be a big part of the series. Hopefully, we will get a break in the weather
and the fans and race teams will not have to worry about getting rained
out."
