CARTERSVILLE, GA – The newest track to be sanctioned by the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for 2010 is 441 Speedway in Dublin, GA. After being an asphalt track for several years, 441 Speedway will begin its second season of “Back To Dirt” in 2010, and will also host the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Pro Division next season.

The addition of 441 Speedway to the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for 2010 expands the East Region to the South in the Peach State. New Senoia Speedway in Senoia, GA will follow suit with 441’s pavement to dirt aspect in 2010, and will also be sanctioned by the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series.

Drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division at 441 Speedway will be competing for both a track point fund and a regional point fund next season. The 2010 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Regional season will run from April 2, 2010 through October 3, 2010. During this 27-week season, drivers may earn Regional points in up to 24 events with their top 16 finishes counting towards their season Regional point total.

“We have just finished the first year of our Back To Dirt phase, and we’ve had a of questions about the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series, and everything we’ve heard has been positive,” 441 Speedway Promoter Justin McCorkle said. “Dirt late models powered by the GM Performance Economy Engines have been growing in our area, and we’re looking to increase our car count with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanction.”

The addition of 441 Speedway gives the series a sanctioned track within close proximity of the title sponsor, NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA. Both the track and dealership are looking to expand a relationship that goes back many years.

“The NeSmith name is very recognizable in this area, and the NeSmith family and my family have been friends for many years,” McCorkle said. “There are also many NeSmith Chevrolet employees that come to 441 Speedway every Saturday night, so we’re looking forward to having the NeSmith name associated with the track, and we’re optimistic that it will work out well for both of us.”

NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series officials also announced the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pro Division will compete at 441 Speedway in 2010, with the $5,000-to-win NeSmith Chevrolet Firecracker 75 on July 1-3.

Drivers at 441 Speedway will compete with drivers at other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series tracks for East Region points. The top ten drivers in the East Region will be invited to the 5th Annual NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Fall Nationals at the end of the 2010 season, and compete in the Race of Regions.

The top ten drivers in the 441 Speedway NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division, excluding those drivers that place in the top ten of the Regional points, will also be invited to compete in the Fall Nationals race. The 2010 441 Speedway NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Late Model Champion will also compete in the Race of Champions at the Fall Nationals.
