It will be a busy Labor Day Weekend for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with two special events set for the upcoming holiday weekend. On Friday Night, September 1 the Series visits Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA for the "All American 50" with a $10,000 first place prize up for grabs. On Saturday Night, September 2 the Series heads to the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV for the 38th Annual "Hillbilly 100" paying $25,000 to win and $1000 to start. At both tracks the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will have a complete race program with Comp Cams Time Trials, PBM Performance Products Heat Races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks B-Mains and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series A-Main. The "All American 50" at Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway will have the cameras of SPEED Channel on hand to tape the event which will be shown on a date and time to be announced in the future.

It will be the Series second ever visit to Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway. The "All American 50" was originally scheduled for June but was rained out. In 2005 Rick Eckert of York, PA took the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event win at the beautiful Saluda, VA facility.

It will be the Series third visit to the BDS Promotions promoted Tyler County Speedway. In 2004 Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN scored the biggest win of his racing career by winning the "Hillbilly 100" and last year local hotshoe Robbie Scott of Shinnston, WV scored his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series victory at the series' appearance at Tyler County.

Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL currently leads the 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Standings. Pearson's lead is just 175 points ahead of Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN. Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH, Matt Miller of Waterville, Oh and Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN round out the top five in points.
