Inside Line Promotions - ORANGEVILLE, Pa. (May 1, 2019) - Joey Amantea is looking forward to running on three different tracks this weekend after three consecutive weekends of facing at least one rainout.

"I'm really excited to get to run on some different stuff," he said. "Maybe this is the kind of shake-up we need and we can get the ball rolling with momentum again."

For the last three weeks Amantea has had two races scheduled per weekend, but weather has yet to permit. Going into this weekend Amantea looks at his first three-day, three-track challenge of 2019. Up first he'll run Friday night at Linda's Speedway in Jonestown, Pa., in what has become the track's season opener after a wet month of April. On Saturday Amantea takes on his home track of Hamlin Speedway in Hamlin, Pa., in its belated opener. And on Sunday he'll make his maiden voyage across state lines to Spirt Auto Center Speedway in Swedesboro, N.J.

Amantea is ready to venture outside of Greenwood Valley Action Tracks in search of better luck. Last Saturday his hard luck streak continued in both classes. Things started off with a drop to fourth after starting second in his non-wing heat race. Amantea started the main 11th and quickly moved forward. Near the middle stage of the race he was running sixth when he hit a tractor tire on the infield berm and spun out. He had to restart from the tail of the field and eventually climbed his way back to a 14th-place finish.

"The weekend in the non-wing car wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either," he said. "I just really feel for my guys because we were moving forward in that one. Just another lesson learned."

In the winged class Amantea started a heat race from seventh and finished sixth. He rolled off 16th in the main event and picked up three positions to place 13th.

"We didn't really go anywhere in the winged car," he said. "There wasn't too much going on out there, but we did move forward and that was good."

A new challenge is slated for this weekend. For the past three weeks rain has hindered the ability to race at Linda's Speedway on Friday nights. This week he's looking to run his non-wing entry on a different surface. Additionally, Amantea hopes he will be running his hometown track of Hamlin Speedway on Saturday night for the first time this season as well.

Then on Sunday Amantea and the team head across state lines and into New Jersey to run at with the Poker Series. In accordance with state law Amantea has had to obtain official licensing approval from the state police to even participate considering his age.

"I'm really thrilled to get over to Spirit Auto Center Speedway to run," he said. "They have some big races there and the competition is stout. I can't wait to see where I stack up."
