Ripley, Tennessee (07/08/14) – Upton Motorsports pilots, Ashley Newman and Kyle Beard, enjoyed a successful holiday weekend playing in the gumbo at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi).

It was an ultra-busy weekend for Upton Motorsports pilot Ashley Newman. On Friday night at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) Newman pulled double duty, competing in both the Super Late Model and Crate Late Model divisions. In CCSDS Super Late Model competition, piloting Tommy Surrett's #27 backup car, Newman locked into the main event via preliminary action, but ultimately retired to a 20th place finish in the final rundown.

In NeSmith Crate Late Model action on Friday night Newman toped the qualifying charts among twenty-one entries, and went on to win his heat race locking him into the pole position for the finale. In the feature Newman raced to the victory over Eric Carr, Peter Hazzard, Ryan Colby, and Henry Pullen.

Nineteen NeSmith Crate Late Model competitors returned for Saturday night's finale, and Newman time end second overall to lock into the outside-front-row starting spot alongside Eric Carr for the feature. In the finale Newman charged to his second victory in as many nights over Chance Inmon, Jason Botsford, Peter Hazzard, and Eric Carr. With the win Newman now holds twelve triumphs in 2014. Complete results from both events are available at www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net .

Ashley Newman concluded the weekend with a trip to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for $2,500-to-win NeSmith Dirt Late Model Touring Series event. A stout field of 40 NeSmith Crate Late Models entered the event, and Newman locked into the sixth starting spot on the feature grid via his qualifying efforts. Unfortunately mechanical issues during the main event would render him to a disappointing 19th place finish. Full results from the event are available at www.NeSmithRacing.com .

Friday night found Beard resuming action with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models with a doubleheader at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi). Twenty-five entries were on hand for the $1,500-to-win program, and after winning his heat race Beard started fourth in the feature. During the course of the main event Kyle battled amongst the top five before crossing the finish line in fifth behind race winner, Bub McCool, Tommy Surrett, Clay Fisher, and Duke Palasini.

Saturday evening saw the winner's check increased to $2,000 for CCSDS competitors, as twenty-four entries returned to battle. In heat race action Beard finished second to Duke Palasini to lock into the fifth starting spot in the 35 lap finale. In the feature Kyle advanced to a solid second place finish behind race winner Bub McCool. Tommy Surrett, Stacy Taylor, and Duke Palasini rounded out the top five finishers.

Kyle continues to lead the CCSDS standings. Full results from the weekend are available at www.COMPDirt.com .

The upcoming weekend will see Kyle Beard entering a single CCSDS event at North Central Arkansas Speedway (Flippin, Arkansas) on Friday night, while Newman is currently waiting to finalize his weekend plans.
