Corinth, Mississippi (10/05/09) –Anthony Burroughs piloted his #121 Mississippi 811 Inc/BHL Motorsports/Mastersbilt By Stuckey/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $3,000 feature win on Saturday night at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee.
BHL Motorsports had a great night at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday night, October 3rd as they picked up the $3,000 payday with the Southern Regional Racing Series. With 27 Super Late Models on hand, Anthony set second fast time in his group to lock into the fifth starting position in the feature event. Burroughs battled throughout the top five in the first half of the event around the tight confines of the 1/4 mile oval before rocketing his way to the lead just past the race's halfway point. He went on to lead the rest of the event to take the win, which was his first ever win at Clarksville Speedway and his 8th win of the 2009 season!
The team was also in action at Boyds Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia on Friday night, October 2nd with the Southern Regional Racing Series as 38 cars entered the event. In group qualifying, Anthony set second fast time in his group to earn the eighth starting position for the feature. Early in the event, Burroughs would fade to the 12th position after several cars checked up on the initial start. He would regroup and mount a charge to the front. By the time that the checkered flag flew, he was credited with a solid sixth place finish.
This Saturday, October 10th, Burroughs will enter the tenth and final round of the 2009 Long Lewis Ford Bama Super Series campaign as he travels to North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Anthony has four wins in 2009 at North Alabama Speedway, including two triumphs with the BSS tour. Heading into the final event of the BSS, Burroughs is currently second in the points, just 60 points behind Chris Ragan. The final event will pay $2,500 to win and $400 to start.
