I am trying to figure out just what would be the best and cheapest way to go on a rear end in a Chevy Monza?? I am installing a 383 w/ 3 speed trany in it.And I am just a tad worried about traction?? Any Ideas?? Thanks ED

What you need to worry about is twisting that poor car to shreds.I knew a guy that put a stock 350 in one and he went through 2 windshields in about three weeks.of course if you don't get any traction you wont have to worry about that. GOOD LUCK

p.s. ....... subframe connectors;)

This car came out w/ a stock 350 in it.But' it keeps shucking the dif. gears!! Also' traction is for CRAPP!!! Instead of useing a transmision mount. How would rear engine mounts or a mid plate do?? Think that might cure the twist??Was thinking about putting a longer 9" in it?? I know it would stick out on both sides. Just a little opposite of the narrowed rear end. But' I am thinking wgt.?? Just giving some of my Ideas.Trying to get other Ideas?? Put em all together.Wgh. the dif. go w/ the best and see what happens??So' if ya think I'm nutts?? Then help me out?? Give me your Ideas?Thats what I'm lookin for>>OTHER inputs and Ideas?? Thanks ED

cheap traction

easy way for cheap tractipn is to remove lower control arm bolts front & rear then install a rod with heim ends beside lower mounts eather inside or out side where clearance is best install new longer bolts and this will totaly eleminate rubber bushings in lowers. In turn will stop wheel hop and launch car very hard I think you will be supprised. Did this on a v-8 Vega years ago and was shocked. Hope this helps ya! BUT DON'T LET ANYONE KNOW!!!! LOL

Thanks DirtDevil!! What kind of a rear end did you use?? This one keeps shucking gears??

Strange Engineering narrowed 12 bolt with axles and posi wasn't cheep but very tough. Looking at about 600.00 but is it worth the fun YES!

Anouther thought I just had was if you keep losing rear gears the problem is most likely the crush sleave you need to get rid of it and solid shim the pinion which will get rid of pinion movement that is most likely causing you to lose gears. The crush sleave is a big problem it loses it's preload therefore lets the pinion override the ring gear and BAMB gears are gone. Good luck. Don't tell anyone
