Any news on I-55? Are they racing? I heard the infield was flooded to the roof of the pit shack. Also heard that the creek is rising close to the road.

Sorry to disappoint you GUZA, but once again that I HEARD syndrome makes you sound stupid because they are racing tonight.

I KNOW that the telephone number to I-55 is 636-479-3219----you can call that number and get the facts instead of the rumor mill. I-55 will be glad to tell you whether you need to bring a Race Car or bring a Jon Boat! :D

Never said I wouldn't go to Pevely. Steve is not legal with the 1980's rules. Plus I have been waiting for a certain white dodge to make an appearance. I havent seen it parked out in front of Chuckie Cheese in awhile.

BTW Happy belated 40th. :p

Old thread, I know, but I do have to bring up one point. The creek and lake is starting to get a bit close to the road. It would still have to rise considerably more, however, to flood things out.

Keep this in mind, if the river goes over 32.5' at the arch, water will begin to back up on the road leading to the racetrack. Rain locally does not affect this situation as much as the rain falling north of St. Louis can.

Now does over 32.5' that mean the races will be canceled? Usually not. What has affected racing at Pevely in the past is when the river, at the arch, is 33' + for several days.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I seen them working on the Track when I drove by Monday afternoon, I think they will be ready and have a great show on Saturday.

River Report.....

Cresting at 28' on Saturday in St. Louis, so there should be no flooding concerns at the track since that is well below the magic number of 32. Now someone needs to chase away that chance of a thundershower for Saturday afternoon, Uh, chicken bones, one eyed kitty ghost, cleo, theres gotta be something out there that can run off a storm! :)

Actually, Glen Zimmerman on 2 said that the storms Saturday would be late night, if not early Sunday. :D

I'm ready for some races!!!!!!!!
