TULSA, Okla. (Dec. 21 2002) - The Tulsa-based American Sprint Car Series announced today that O'Reilly Auto Parts, headquartered in Springfield, MO, will be the title sponsor for the 2003 ASCS national tour.

"We are very enthused about our role of title sponsor for the American Sprint Car Series in 2003," said Kevin Greven, spokesman for O'Reilly Auto Parts. "The American Sprint Car Series is nationally-recognized as a premier Sprint Car touring series and represents a great opportunity for O'Reilly Auto Parts to better reach our target market in an effective manner. As title sponsor, we look forward to an exciting year of racing on the ASCS national tour in 2003."

O'Reilly Auto Parts is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories in the United States, serving both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets. Founded in 1957 by the O'Reilly family, the company operates nearly 1,000 stores within the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

The premier 360 Sprint Car touring series in the country, the American Sprint Car Series comes off a banner year in 2002, which featured 48 nights of racing throughout Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Oklahoma. More than 300 drivers from throughout the nation competed in at least one ASCS nationally sanctioned event in 2002. As has been the trend since its inception in 1992, the schedule will expand again in 2003, with the ASCS national tour hosting 55-60 nights of racing action.

A significant feature of the agreement will be the sales of tickets to ASCS events at local O'Reilly Auto Parts outlets during the 2003 racing season. O'Reilly Auto Parts will work in conjunction with tracks hosting the ASCS national tour, establishing ticket sales in local stores. Additionally, O'Reilly Auto Parts is developing programs to distribute product coupons to fans and participants at each event.

"We are pleased to have a top-tier company such as O'Reilly Auto Parts come on board as title sponsor for the 2003 season," said ASCS President and founder Emmett Hahn. "Having O'Reilly Auto Parts on board will help us further meet our goals of providing the best Sprint Car racing possible for our fans, promoters and race teams. O'Reilly's participation really is a "win-win" situation for everybody involved."
