Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (August 1, 2007) – The American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region has added a three-night Sprint Car spectacular to its late-season slate with a three-night stand at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA, on October 18-20.

A clean sweep of the three-night set atop the semi-banked, ½-mile Oglethorpe Speedway Park clay oval would net a driver a grand total of $6,500. The Thursday, October 18, feature offers $1,500 to win, with $2,000 to win on Friday and then $3,000 to win on Saturday night, October 20.

There will also be a practice session on Wednesday night, October 17.

With the addition of the event, the first year of action for the ASCS Rebel Region now includes 14 events at nine different tracks throughout Georgia, Alabama and North Florida.

With the initial seven events of the season already in the books, 23-year-old T.J. Winegardner of Pierson, FL, is the current ASCS Rebel Region points leader, holding a slim 14-point lead over Brian Thomas of Pendergrass, GA, with Georgia's Matt Linder and the Florida duo of Tyler Godwin and Kenny Adams rounding out the current top five.

The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With a dozen different Regions in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
