Benton, Mo; A total of 27 sprint cars was on hand for the Auto Tire and Parts NAPA Racepark weekly program Saturday night which offered plenty of trills and spills for the fans. The sprint A-Main offered plenty of excitement which saw Jerrold Hull of Sikeston, Missouri drive his number 12 sprinter to victory lane in the 25 lap main event followed by Chad Soulders, Todd Rowland, Joey Montgomery, and Eddie Lynch of Springfield, Illinois. Joe Morris won the Late Model A-Main followed closely by Sikeston's own Billy James.
In the modified main event Shawn Rayfield of St Louis, Missouri held off Billy Smith and Danny Resinger to win the UMP Modified feature event. In the Pure Street Stock feature event plenty of racing action took place in the early laps of the event, which saw Jeff Beeson lead for a few laps before he started developing transmission problems. Gene Fowler of Portageville, Missouri which drove an outstanding race took the checker flag and won the Pure Street Stock A-Main event. The team of Southard and Koenig drove their car to victory lane in the Cruiser class feature.
Racing action will resume at the Auto Tire and Parts NAPA Racepark this Saturday evening which will be Southeast Missouri State University Student Night. Every Semo student presenting a proper and current student I.D. will be admitted to the grandstand for half price that evening.
