Late Model racing will be returning to the Auto Tire and Parts Racepark for the 2003 Racing season. Late Models have not raced at the facility since 1997. ATPR will be sanctioning the Late Model class under the UMP sanctioning body. "We had several request from local fans and race teams to bring the Late Models back to Benton for the 2003 season and with the great response we have received the decision has been made that the Late Models will be added to our weekly racing program", according to Jerry Wolsey, Promoter of the Oval Facility at ATPR. The 2003 season classes will be the Outlaw Wing Sprints, UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Pure Street Stock, and Cruisers. i wish you luck but with so many tracks running late models on saterday nights it might be hard to draw cars!!!!!!
 
YA' NEVER KNOW, SOMETIMES GUYS GET TO HURTING FOR POINTS AND HAVE TO LOOK FOR PLACES TO GET THEM. ALSO, ITS NOT THAT FAR FOR THE KENTUCKY & ARKANSAS BOYS. NOT TO MENTION, IF RAIN WASHES OUT THE STL AREA, GUYS WILL BE HITTIN' THE HIGHWAY LOOKIN' FOR A PLACE TO RACE.

Actually I think that for a few guys Benton is probably about the same distance as Mt. Vernon. I wouldn't doubt it if on those World of Outlaw shows there will be a few Late Models from I-55 make a trip down there. This may very well be the place where I'll be on April 12.
