The B-modifieds will be in the spotlight at CMS this coming Saturday, June 9th, for a special feature event as the drivers will be competing for extra purse money in a 20-lap feature. The pay out for the event will be as follows: 1st - $600, 2nd - $450, 3rd - $300, 4th - $225, 5th - $200, 6th - $175, 7th - $150, 8th - $140, 9th - $130, 10th - $120, 11th - $110, 12th - $100, 13th on back $100. The B-main will pay $80 to all drivers who do not transfer to the main event. A straight up pill draw and then qualifying heat races will be utilized to set the field. All drivers who have competed at least twice this year prior to this event will not have to pay an entry fee. All drivers who have not competed at least twice prior to this event in a B-modified will pay a $50 entry fee to enter the event. All drivers not yet registered in a B-modified at the track will have to pay the normal $60 track registration fee. Drivers should be aware of all class rules and general track rules prior to this event. Visit the track’s Website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net for general and class-specific rules. For technical inspection information contact the CMS technical inspector, Bobby Lopez, at (816) 237-6264 between the hours of 5 to 9 p.m. weekdays only.

So far during the 2007 season there are 43 B-modified drivers shown on the current point standings. Independence, Missouri driver Scotty Martin has dominated the B-modifieds so far this year by claiming 5 feature wins out of six contested. The only other driver to race his way to victory lane is Chad Lebsock of Centralia, Missouri. Several strong runners who will look to challenge include Michael Mullins, Ethan Isaacs, Bubba Kline, Brian Ziegler and Phillip Bradshaw. Mark Evinger, Max Grogan and Jake Newman have also posted strong finishes in recent weeks and will look to contend for the win. Bobby Raybourn recently made his return to racing and will look to add his name to the mix along with Tyler and Gary Lewis and the rest of the talent-deep drivers in this fast-growing and popular division. Since this is a special event for the B-modifieds, regular track points will not be awarded for this event.

Time and weather permitting, there will be a driver autograph session spotlighting the B-modified drivers; however, all drivers are urged to participate during this intermission-time event. Drivers will be called to come to the grandstand areas to meet their fans and to sign autographs. Seniors 55 and over who bring a new friend/fan to the races this weekend will receive a free ticket to the following week’s races on June 16th! Last week there were 111 cars present in the four regular racing divisions at CMS; the ‘Mighty’ Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-modifieds. Promoters Earl and Susan Walls are expecting another stellar field of the best drivers throughout the Midwest as well as packed bleachers full of the loyalist fans you can find anywhere in dirt-track racing. This weekend’s races will be week 7 of the 20-week championship season.
