B-mods At Drr In 2008?

TATTOOED

Was just wondering what the thoughts were of running a B-MOD class in 2008 at DRR. Is this possible?

Yeah I was there and thought it was a great show too. I know of a few more B-Mod racers that would be making DRR their home if it would happen.

Was wondering?

Was Fridays show invitation only or what. We didn't find out till last minute and already had plans. Heard it went well though. We'll be at the next one when it happens.

i drove the black 11j b-mod and had a great time. the track was great and really enjoyed the whole experiece. would be very happy to come back more. i was invited down by kenny harris to show the fans and bob our montgomery county raceway b-mods and to see if the track was big enough for our cars. i would be interested in a regular show there, i thought everything went great:)

I was told it was a invitation only race when Kenny called me which i appreciate...It was a great time. Congrats to Jim on his heat and feature win....One suggestion...move that big ol tire in another foot so i can cut that corner..hehe j/k

I'm not going to say i'd run doe run next year over the rock...but i did have a great time..i'll be honest and say i like the idea of the "Emod" rules over the MCS rules but on a track like that you definately have to drive it around there so there's more than a motor, but it seemed like everyone was running pretty good between the two different rules so. We'll wait and see what happens next year between the two and i'll decide the then...

Actually Bill, I felt there were no noticeable differences in your cars to the casual fan. Obviously you can hear a difference at times, but as far as watching the cars run...lap times were very comparable. It's kinda like the 305 sprints, Dustin was breaking in a 360 motor in the blue #3. You could tell by the sound of it, that it has alot more power. However, the size of the track was a real equalizer. During the hotlap session the #03 was following him and only lost a few lengths to the much hotter motor...

PC36, by the nature of the body size on a latemodel it would be pretty tight racing. But, it WOULD be possible with a bunch of level-headed drivers.;)

:DPersonally, I would like to see Bob stretch the track on out to the size of Belleville. That would pretty much secure the track layout for eternity, there would not need to be any future adjustments. It would definately be large enough for any class then, based on B'ville's current shows...

Had a blast!

I want to thank Kenny for the invite to DRR. I also want to thank Bobby and the track for having a b-mod race. The track took a few laps to get figured out on a line to run but everyone was driving sensible and was racing the track instead of beating and banging on each other. The only complaint I had was it was hard to try and get a run on someone to make a pass. But with some changes to the car with gears and set up for exiting the corner, that could solve the problem. If DRR would run a b-mod class full time next year, I would make several trips there to race. I kinda felt bad though, me (#343) and Bill (#21) had spots picked out on Shannon's mod that just looked too nice and pretty, we didnt get to leave any doughnuts on it :p:D.

fun night.

thanks to all who were there friday. i had a good time and really liked the track .wish we had that good old redclay at m.c.s jim hartzell.

I cannot give a definate answer right now but you will see the B-mods returning to DRR in 2008. They may be a once or every other week deal during 2008.

I just watched the races from DRR with the B-mods . It appears that the differences in rules and the performance in the cars was pretty close to the same. The reson for MCS rules are to have less things to be teched. With them rules their is NO reason to have to pull a head. Cast iron blocks, cast iron heads, NO roller cams, 1 3/8 venturi 2 bbl., and stock type transmissons. NO Berts, Brinns, or Falcon type trannys. Someone in a yellow car,I won't mention no names, had the field pretty much covered other than Jim Hartzell untill he tried to make the track wider and push the tires out of the way.......LOL That crate motor amazes me..............

I know my car liked DRR a whole lot better than SFCR...i got to learn to get that thing to handle when running different tracks! it felt awesome at DRR and was a blast to drive but at SFCR it was alot of work to get that thing to go in circles...Got an idea what i need to do but o well...i'm done for the year...time to get it ready for next year..And i like that crate motor...it's not the biggest motor in the bmods but it ain't far off for the price and convenience...and if i can learn to keep up with the track "handling" it'd be even better...

if they make the bmods a show there are they going to drop a class and if so what class i run the pro 4 horents and like drr my son races karts there to and running there make it easy for both of ust to get to race does anyone know if they will drop a class or not let me know thanks

Mcs - B Mod Rules

If DRR runs MCS Bmod rules then we would show up as much as we could to support the track. I would've liked to of run somewhere else this past season on fridays. I didn't have the right cam for the Rock. It isn't any fun winning if you cheat to do it.

feature race

Bill that was some good driving in Doe Run. I would swear that I seen Lance Bayless push that tire our on that track for Kenny to win that race. Or if that wasn't Kenny in second he thought it was and was helping him out. I sure hope they run them there some next year we will be there for sure and I'm going to tie Lance to a pole so it won't happen again. I was wanting to see that boo boo everybody heard about thanks for putting it on here. Paul Will

Any updates

Hey Kenny Harris, are there any updates on the B mods at DRR since the Rock has decided to stick to there E mods? I would love to have a place to run on friday nights. If the old car doesn't sell I'll set it up for DRR and leave the new car for MCS. That old two linker would probably like that small tight track.
Thanks,
