Lonnie Bailey, Henry Delonjay, Joe Hooper and Billy Genenbacher all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways Sunday night.

The Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event came down to a game of inches Sunday night. Lonnie Bailey was declared the winner in what could be said was the closest finish ever at the quarter mile at Quincy. Denny Woodworth grabbed the lead on the first lap after pole sitter, Clint Kirkham spun in front of the field and brought out a caution flag to start the main event. Woodworth then held the top spot until the unlucky 13th lap when Lonnie Bailey slipped past to take over the lead. Bailey then pulled out to a comfortable margin until catching lapped traffic giving points leader, Mark Burgtorf the change he needed to reel in Bailey. Burgtorf tried high and low but could not get enough momentum built up to make the pass but a 25th lap caution period closed up the entire field. Bailey took to the low side on the restart and held off Burgtorf who also was battling with Jeremiah Hurst to hold onto second. Burgtorf got a head of steam built up on the high side and made a last ditch effort to pass Bailey going to the checkered flag but Bailey prevailed by the narrowest of margins, only a couple of inches to take his third feature win of the season. Burgtorf settled for second with Hurst in third, Terry Gallaher in fourth and Denny Woodworth in fifth. Joey Gower and Gallaher were the heat race winners with Burgtorf taking home the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Burgtorf holds a 33 point lead in the race to the Track Championship over Bailey with only one more points race left for the Budwieser IMCA Late Models.

Jerry Weisenberger took the lead on the first lap of the Miller Lite A Modified feature event after Ryan Meyer and Lee Tibbits tangled going through the first and second corners. Weisenberger held onto the top spot until the fourth lap when Henry Delonjay made his move and grabbed up the lead. Delonjay pulled away to a comfortable margin and left the rest of the field to battle it out for rest of the 20 lapper. Weisenberger then held off the challenges of Jerry Davis to grab second with Davis in third, Jim Roach in fourth and Michael Long in fifth. Delonjay’s win gives him an 8 point margin over Ryan Meyer with 4 points races left for the A-Mods. Delonjay and Meyer were the heat race winners with Delonjay making it a clean sweep by taking the win in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash.

Joe Hooper got his season back on track with his first win of the year in the B Modified feature event. The veteran driver led all 9 laps of the feature that was time limited due the over abundance of caution periods. Hooper took the win after a race long battle with Terry Houston who settled for second with David Weitholder in third, Bobby Cookson in fourth, and Jim Leffew in fifth. Leffew, Rodney Gower and Houston took the heat race wins with Kevin Tomlinson grabbing the checkered flag in the B-Main. Tony Dunker now holds a 13 point lead over his closest challenger Marty Hull but second through 5 is separated by only 8 markers with only 4 nights left.

Billy Genenbacher made a statement as he added to his points lead by taking the win in the Bomber Main Event. Genenbacher climbed through the field from his 7th row starting spot to take the lead on the 16th circuit of the 18 lap race. Genenbacher won over Steve Carlin in second, Adam Birch in third, Jeff Delonjay in fourth and Eddie Dieker in fifth. Bobby Lewis, Matt Bockenfeld and Carlin captured the heat race wins with Genenbacher and Craig Spilker taking the wins in the B-Mains.
